The value of gross production for mines and quarries in the Sultanate in 2015 stood at about RO10.23 billion; a decline by 35.5 percent compared to RO15.88 billion in 2014.
The production inputs registered a 27.7 percent decline from RO1.31 billion in 2014 to RO947.2 million in 2015.The added value for mines and quarries dropped by 36.2 percent to register RO9.28 billion in 2015 compared to RO14.57 billion in 2014.The employee compensation increased by 1 percent to RO664.4 million in 2015 compared to RO657.4 million in 2014. As for the activities associated with mines and quarries, the value of gross production of crude oil stood at RO7.76 billion, the value of production inputs stood at RO525.1 million, the added value stood at RO7.24 billion and the employee compensation stood at RO321.4 million.
The value of gross production for the service activity related to oil and gas extraction hit RO1.51 billion. While the value of production inputs registered RO291.2 million, the added value hit RO760.2 million and employee compensation stood at RO297.1 million.As for raw minerals extraction activity, the value of gross production stood at RO56.3 million, the value of production inputs stood at RO11.6 million, the added value stood at RO44.7 million and the employee compensation stood at RO3.6 million.The value of gross production of stones, mud and sand stood at RO152.2 million, the value of production inputs stood at RO64.6 million, the added value stood at RO87.7 million and the employee compensation stood at RO23 million.
While the value of gross production of natural gas stood at RO1.21 billion, the value of production inputs registered RO54.7 million, the added value registered RO1.15 billion and the employee compensation stood at RO19.4 million.
