During its first meeting of the current year, the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) Steering Committee discussed the progress on the NSDI Project, as well as the status of the project on data matching with the GIS map and the unified government license for GIS programs.

The meeting on Thursday, 22 March 2017, was held at the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Barwani, the CEO of the Center. The meeting reviewed the NCSI's two smartphone applications developed for the banking and fuel refill sectors. The meeting also adopted the minutes of the last meeting of the Committee.
