A joint meeting between Oman government and the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to conduct a mid-term review of the National Action Programme (2017-2020) was hosted by the Centre.
The meeting discussed on changes taking place on children and women front and whether it is in line with the current economic plan and priorities. The meeting was held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Barwani, chief executive officer of the NCSI, excellences and representatives of concerned organisations. The subjects, which came up for discussion, included strategic direction for next two years. This is expected to support a joint work plan for the future.
The National Action Programme is aimed at improving the quality of services provided for early and integrated childhood, reaching out to the neediest children in governorates, which require improvement of efficiency, changes in the attitude of society for protection of children from violence, increasing awareness on child protection and integrating children with disabilities.
