The NCSI launched a trade website called 'Manafeth', which is an electronic gateway for the import and export activities in Oman. This website, which is a part of the centre's portal www.ncsi.gov.om, includes a number of windows, which shows statistics on international trade data, as well as movement of exported and imported goods.

His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Bin Abdullah Al Barwani, Chief Executive Officer of NCSI, said that the international trade portal 'Manafeth' is part of centre's efforts to keep itself up to date with the technological advancement and use it in adapting the various statistical data to provide it to various segments of the society. This portal is one of the means used by the NCSI to disseminate national open data for use in various areas.

Al Barwani said that this was the mission of the NCSI to make the vast, reliable and accurate data and statistics possessed by it, available in various forms and on platforms. This is to promote correct statistical knowledge and information.

The portal was inaugurated in the presence of Khalifa Al Barwani the CEO of the NCSI and some representatives of relevant government entities. It shows the importance of commodities, which cross the borders and the role-played by the global markets in the economy of Oman. These statistics are also used in the preparation of the data of balance of payments and GDP.

The portal provides detailed statistical information about the value of imports exports re- exports in the local currency, its other descriptions, country of import or export, customs outlet, type of trade to explain if it is import, export or re-export as well as the country of origin.

Several reports have also been prepared for the portal in the form of detailed numerical data to be used in various statistical analyses or in the forms of graphics.
