The inflation rate in the Sultanate has stabilized in June 2019 in compared to the same month of last year 2018.While the inflation rate which calculated in terms of consumer price index (CPI), rose by 0.19% compared to May 2019, according to the data released by the (NCSI).
The NCSI data shows that, the stability of the price index in June 2019 was mainly driven by the balanced rise and growth in cost of major segments like transport that rose by 0.04%, education by 1.99%, culture & entertainment by 0.94%, and furnishing, household equipment & maintenance group by 4.91%,while the Tobacco Group shown stability in its prices .In compared to the month of May , the general consumer price index rose by 0.19%, while the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages group rose by 0.86%, miscellaneous goods & services by 0.34%, restaurants and hotels by 0.07%.
However, prices of transportation groups decrease by 0.11% , garments & footwear decrease by 0.13%, telecommunications decrease by 0.02%, while the prices of housing groups , utilities of water , of electricity , of gas , & utilities of other kinds of fuels, culture, entertainment, education, health and tobacco were shown stabilized.
