The visitors 'number of Salalah by the end of the second week of Salalah tourism season ( 21 June to 4 July 2019) has reached 27138 visitors, compared to 57046 visitors during the same period in 2018, while the number of the visitors during the second week only has reached to 16251 visitors . According to the latest statistic results of Khareef Salalah visitors' census project, which being implemented by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The statistics also shows that, 51.2% of the tourism season visitors until the second week of the season who are 13902 visitors, have entered the Governorate of Dhofar through the land port, while 13236 tourists have arrived via the airport. In compared to the first week of the tourism season, the tourist number of the second week who arrived via the air port has increased by 39.3% ,where those who arrived by domestic flight during the second week were 4334 visitors, compared to 3,770 visitors during the first week of the season. The arrivals to the governorate of Dhofar via the international flights also increased from 1760 visitor during the first week of the season to 3372 visitors during the second week. The NCSI statistic also shows that, the GCC nationals, including Omanis were accounted for 60.3% of the total number of the visitors of salalah tourism season until the second week of the season ,which reached 16368 visitors , followed by visitors from Asia' who were 5,521 visitors, The number of visitors from other Arab countries 4336 visitors, 543 visitors from European countries and 370 visitors from other different countries.
According to the same statistics, about 54.4% of the visitors to Salalah during the second week of the tourism season are residents in the Sultanate, where their number reached to 8,848 visitors, compared to 7,403 people are non-resident visitors.
