NCSI will host its first-ever Technical Seminar on Oman National Spatial Data Infrastructure (ONSDI) program on 17th and 18th January 2017. The Seminar will focus on ONSDI's achievements.
In addition, NCSI will officially launch the Oman National Base Map and Mobile Framework for its stakeholders during the event. More than 150 delegates from nearly 60 Government and Semi Government entities will attend the seminar, which will be hosted at NCSI's head office at Ghala.
Oman National Spatial Data Infrastructure (ONSDI) is a government initiative conceived to provide a framework for geospatial standards, policies, institutional arrangements, and technology infrastructure necessary to coordinate, facilitate, and support the sharing and utilization of geospatial Information across multiple government organizations in the Sultanate.
The initiative also focuses on building the required geospatial capacity and on promoting the use of geospatial information in the government's decision-making process.
