Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the Sultanate of Oman's total production of electricity till the end of September 2024 increased by 8.1%, reaching 37,584.7 GWh, compared to 34,777.4 GWh in the same period of 2023.
Statistics showed that the Governorates of Al Batinah North and South and Adh Dhahirah recorded total electricity production reaching 23,586.1 GWh, and the Governorates of Al Sharqiyah North and South recorded electricity production reaching 8,247.6 GWh till the end of September 2024.
The electricity production in the Governorate of Ad Dakhliyah decreased by 63.5%, and by 8.1% in the Governorate of Muscat, reaching 395.5 GWh. In the Governorate of Dhofar, electricity production increased by 14.7% reaching 4,458 GWh. Meanwhile, the total electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 26.1%, reaching 130.9 GWh.
Statistics also showed that the Sultanate of Oman's net electricity production until the end of September 2024 increased by 7.3% to reach 36,210.9 GWh. The net production in the Governorate of Al Batinah North and South and Adh Dhahirah increased by 6.7%, reaching 22,602.4 GWh, and those of Al Dakhliyah also decreased by 63.5% to reach 60.7 GWh.
In the governorates of Al Sharqiyah North and South, the electricity production increased by 6.2%, reaching 8,065.7 GWh, and those in the Governorate of Muscat decreased by 8.2%, reaching 392.5 GWh. In the Governorate of Dhofar, it increased by 14.4%, reaching 4,263.5 GWh till the end of September 2024.
The statistics showed that the net electricity production in the Governorate of Al Wusta decreased by 26.2%, recording 129.2 GWh.
In terms of water production, the statistics showed that the total quantity of water produced in the Sultanate of Oman decreased by 1.9%, reaching 383,391.7 thousand cubic meters by the end of September 2024.
