The Sultanate of Oman’s oil exports
recorded a drop of 1.5% until the end of January 2025 to reach 25,821.3thousand
barrels compared to the corresponding period in 2024 when it was 26,201.3 thousand
barrels, according to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and
Information (NCSI).
According to NCSI statistics, the
production of oil in the Sultanate of Oman fell by 2% until the end of January
2025 to reach 30,611.3 thousand barrels compared to 31,236.2 thousand barrels
during the corresponding period in 2024.
Crude oil production decreased by 2.2%,
while the production of condensates remained fell by 1.2% until the end of
January 2025 compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
The average oil price dropped by 12.8%,
reaching USD 72.5 per barrel by the end of January 2025, compared to USD 83.2
per barrel by the end of January 2024. Additionally, the average daily
production declined by 2% through the end of January 2025.
Meanwhile, gas production (including
imports and local production) in Oman rose by 9.5% to reach 4,604.3 MNCM until
the end of January 2025 compared to 4,205.8 MNCM until the end of January 2024.
Consumption of
natural gas in industrial areas fell by 7.8% until the end of January 2025
compared to the corresponding period in 2024. Further, natural gas consumption
fell by 0.4% in power generation plants, whereas consumption in industrial
projects and oil fields rose by 0.2% and 53.3%, respectively, until the end of
January 2025.
