Social security is important as it provides a source of income for a person when he is unable to work. There are several categories covered by social security namely the elderly, the disabled, the divorced, the widowed (women), the orphans, the unmarried girls, the prisoner's family, the abandoned woman and the special category. This highlights the various statistical data on the number of families and individuals benefitting from social security by their geographical distribution and the amounts spent on them.
