Using Social Media Applications

The implementation of this survey came with the aim of preparing a national framework for dealing with social media applications in order to achieve several objectives, the most important of which are:

- Monitor and analyze the use of social media applications by Omanis, including determining preferred times for use and estimating the average time they spend using each of them.

- Measuring the extent of individuals’ interaction with the content available on the applications they follow.

- Identify the practices followed by individuals in using applications.

- Evaluate individuals' satisfaction and preferences regarding the applications they use.

- Knowing the pattern of children and adolescents’ use of social media, and estimating the effects resulting from this use, in addition to measuring the extent to which the family follows them.

- Identifying the main reasons that influence Omanis’ use or non-use of social media applications.

- Measuring the extent of the positive or negative impact of social media on the social and work lives of individuals.
