في إطار الالتزام الاجتماعي لحكومة سلطنة عمان، يأتي الاهتمام الكبير بتطوير وتنمية صناديق التقاعد التي تعتبر من الآليات المالية الهامة في أي مجتمع، والتي تعنى بجمع رسوم إلزامية أو اختيارية لكي يتم توزيعها لاحقا على من يبلغ سن التقاعد من المشتركين بها، كما تصرف أنواع محددة من التعويضات لبعض الفئات. ورصدًا لواقع صناديق التقاعد في السلطنة، ودعمًا لجهود تطويرها، فقد أصدر المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات خلال عام 2022 نشرة المسجلين في صناديق التقاعد باللغة العربية متضمنة لبيانات 2021، حيث تتضمن الجداول والبيانات المتعلقة بعدد المسجلين في بعض صناديق التقاعد والمعاشات المستحقة لهم حسب أسباب انتهاء الخدمة وحسب فئة قيمة المعاش التقاعدي، وكذلك عدد الموظفين الخاضعين لقانون معاشات ومكافآت ما بعد الخدمة، وغيرها من البيانات الأخرى ذات العلاقة.
