ارتفع إجمالي إنتاج الكهرباء في سلطنة عُمان بنسبة 4.5 بالمائة بنهاية يوليو 2026م، ليبلغ 31,732.5 جيجاوات ساعة، مقارنةً بـ 30,354.6 جيجاوات ساعة خلال الفترة المماثلة من عام 2025م، وفقًا لأحدث البيانات الأولية الصادرة عن المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات.وبينت الإحصاءات أن محافظة مسقط سجلت أعلى معدل نمو في إجمالي إنتاج الكهرباء بنسبة 197.4 بالمائة، تلتها محافظة الداخلية بنسبة 41.8 بالمائة، ومحافظة ظفار بنسبة 5.4 بالمائة، ومحافظة الوسطى بنسبة 8.0 بالمائة، ومحافظات شمال الباطنة وجنوب الباطنة والظاهرة بنسبة 5.6 بالمائة.وفي المقابل، انخفض إجمالي إنتاج الكهرباء في محافظتي شمال الشرقية وجنوب الشرقية بنسبة 15.1 بالمائة، وفي محافظة مسندم بنسبة 2.8 بالمائة.وفيما يتعلق بصافي إنتاج الكهرباء، الذي يشمل مشتريات الشركة العُمانية لشراء الطاقة والمياه ومشتريات شركة كهرباء المناطق الريفية بحسب المناطق، أوضحت البيانات ارتفاعه بنسبة 4.9 بالمائة بنهاية يوليو 2026م، ليبلغ 30,866.7 جيجاوات ساعة، مقارنةً بـ 29,421.5 جيجاوات ساعة خلال الفترة المماثلة من عام 2025م.وسجلت محافظة مسقط أعلى نسبة نمو في صافي إنتاج الكهرباء، بلغت 197 بالمائة، تلتها محافظة الداخلية بنسبة 42 بالمائة، ومحافظة ظفار بنسبة 8.8 بالمائة، ومحافظة الوسطى بنسبة 8.7 بالمائة، ومحافظات شمال الباطنة وجنوب الباطنة والظاهرة بنسبة 5.5 بالمائة.وفي المقابل، تراجع صافي إنتاج الكهرباء في محافظتي شمال الشرقية وجنوب الشرقية بنسبة 15.3 بالمائة، وفي محافظة مسندم بنسبة 2.8 بالمائة.وعلى صعيد المياه، انخفض إجمالي الإنتاج بنسبة 3.2 بالمائة بنهاية يوليو 2026م، ليبلغ 287,484.3 ألف متر مكعب، مقارنةً بـ 296,874.8 ألف متر مكعب خلال الفترة المماثلة من عام 2025م.وعلى مستوى المحافظات، انخفض إنتاج المياه في محافظة مسقط بنسبة 5.9 بالمائة، متراجعًا من 118,160.0 ألف متر مكعب بنهاية يوليو 2025م إلى 111,241.0 ألف متر مكعب بنهاية يوليو 2026م.كما تراجع إنتاج المياه في المحافظات الأخرى بنسبة 3.0 بالمائة، ليبلغ 130,536.1 ألف متر مكعب، مقارنةً بـ 134,613.0 ألف متر مكعب خلال الفترة المماثلة من عام 2025م.وفي المقابل، ارتفع إنتاج المياه في محافظة ظفار بنسبة 3.6 بالمائة، ليبلغ 45,707.1 ألف متر مكعب خلال الفترة من يناير إلى يوليو 2026م، مقارنةً بـ 44,101.8 ألف متر مكعب خلال الفترة المماثلة من عام 2025م.

Total electricity generation in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 4.5% by the end of July 2026, reaching 31,732.5 gigawatt-hours (GWh), compared with 30,354.6 GWh during the corresponding period of 2025, according to the latest preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).The statistics showed that Muscat Governorate recorded the highest growth rate in total electricity generation at 197.4%, followed by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate at 41.8%, Dhofar Governorate at 5.4%, Al Wusta Governorate at 8.0%, and the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah at 5.6%.In contrast, total electricity generation in North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates declined by 15.1%, while Musandam Governorate recorded a decrease of 2.8%.Net electricity generation, which includes purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and purchases by the Rural Areas Electricity Company (Tanweer) across the various areas, increased by 4.9% by the end of July 2026 to reach 30,866.7 GWh, compared with 29,421.5 GWh during the corresponding period of 2025.Muscat Governorate recorded the highest growth in net electricity generation at 197%, followed by Al Dakhiliyah Governorate at 42%, Dhofar Governorate at 8.8%, Al Wusta Governorate at 8.7%, and the governorates of North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Dhahirah at 5.5%.In contrast, net electricity generation in North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates fell by 15.3%, while Musandam Governorate recorded a decline of 2.8%.As for water, total production decreased by 3.2% by the end of July 2026 to reach 287,484.3 thousand cubic metres, compared with 296,874.8 thousand cubic metres during the corresponding period of 2025.At the governorate level, water production in Muscat Governorate declined by 5.9%, falling from 118,160.0 thousand cubic metres by the end of July 2025 to 111,241.0 thousand cubic metres by the end of July 2026.Water production in the other governorates also decreased by 3.0% to reach 130,536.1 thousand cubic metres, compared with 134,613.0 thousand cubic metres during the corresponding period of 2025.In contrast, water production in Dhofar Governorate increased by 3.6% to reach 45,707.1 thousand cubic metres during the period from January to July 2026, compared with 44,101.8 thousand cubic metres during the corresponding period of 2025.

ينفذ المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات، بالتعاون مع جامعة السلطان قابوس واللجنة الوطنية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم، استطلاعًا حول تعزيز التعلم مدى الحياة في سلطنة عُمان، خلال الفترة من 30 أغسطس إلى 3 سبتمبر 2026م، وذلك ضمن المشروع البحثي (تعزيز التعلم مدى الحياة من خلال مدن التعلم في سلطنة عُمان).ويهدف الاستطلاع إلى قياس مستوى التعلم مدى الحياة لدى أفراد المجتمع العُماني في الولايات المستهدفة وهي مسقط ونزوى وصور، والتعرف على فرص التعلم والتدريب المتاحة لهم ومدى سهولة الوصول إليها، إلى جانب قياس مستوى مشاركتهم فيها ورصد الكفايات المرتبطة بها، ودراسة العلاقة بين توافر هذه الفرص ومدى الاستفادة منها وانعكاسها على الكفايات والأفراد.ويُنفذ الاستطلاع من خلال المقابلات الهاتفية على عينة عشوائية يبلغ حجمها 1200 عُمانيا ممن تبلغ أعمارهم 18 عامًا فأكثر في الولايات المستهدفة.وقال هود البلوشي، القائم بأعمال مدير دائرة قياس الرأي العام بالمركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات، إن الاستطلاع يمثل خطوة مهمة نحو توفير بيانات تسهم في تكوين صورة أكثر شمولًا عن واقع التعلم المستمر في المجتمع العُماني، من حيث الفرص المتاحة للأفراد ومستوى مشاركتهم والمهارات التي يمتلكونها.وأضاف أن نتائج الاستطلاع ستسهم في التعرف على جوانب القوة والاحتياجات المستقبلية، بما يدعم التخطيط وتطوير المبادرات والبرامج ذات الصلة، ويوفر مؤشرات يمكن الاستفادة منها في تعزيز وصول أفراد المجتمع إلى فرص التعلم، ودعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى مواكبة المتغيرات المعرفية والرقمية.ومن المتوقع أن تسهم الدراسة في بناء قاعدة بيانات وطنية يمكن الاستناد إليها في القياسات المستقبلية، وإنتاج مؤشرات قابلة للاستخدام، إلى جانب الخروج بتوصيات تطبيقية تسهم في تطوير فرص التعلم في سلطنة عُمان.وأكد البلوشي أهمية تعاون أفراد المجتمع الذين يتم التواصل معهم ضمن العينة المستهدفة، داعيًا إلى التعاون مع مركز الاتصال بالمركز عند تلقي الاتصال من الرقم (24219000)، موضحًا أن جميع الإجابات تُعامل بسرية تامة وتُستخدم لأغراض إحصائية فقط.وأشار الدكتور محمود بن عبدالله العبري، أمين اللجنة الوطنية العُمانية للتربية والثقافة والعلوم، إلى أن هذا الاستطلاع يندرج ضمن الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى تعزيز التعلم مدى الحياة باعتباره محركًا أساسيًا للارتقاء بجودة التعلم وتحسين الحياة والرفاه المجتمعي. وأكد أن الاستطلاع سيوفر بيانات ومؤشرات موثوقة تسهم في دعم التخطيط ووضع السياسات وتطوير المبادرات ذات الصلة، كما ستعزز نتائجه جهود مدن مسقط وصور ونزوى ضمن شبكة اليونسكو العالمية لمدن التعلم، من خلال فهمٍ أعمق لواقع التعلم وتحديد الأولويات والاحتياجات المستقبلية بما يدعم التنمية المستدامة في سلطنة عُمان.وتقول الأستاذة الدكتورة عائشة سالم الحارثي، الباحث الرئيس في الدراسة: تؤكد رؤية عُمان ٢٠٤٠ على أهمية تنمية القدرات الوطنية عبر منظومة تعلُّم مدى الحياة تُنمّي مهارات المستقبل. كما أن التعلم لم يعد مرتبطًا بمرحلة عمرية أو بمقعد دراسي، بل يمتد طوال العمر وعبر ما يمر به الأفراد من مراحل مهنية وحياتية وأدوار متعددة كآباء وأفراد فاعلين في مجتمعهم. وتأتي هذه الدراسة لتسلط الضوء على إمكانية الوصول إلى فرص التعلم المتاحة في المجتمع العماني، والوقوف على واقع توفر كفايات التعلم مدى الحياة لدى أفراده.

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), in cooperation with Sultan Qaboos University and the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, is implementing a survey on promoting lifelong learning in the Sultanate of Oman from 30 August to 3 September 2026. The survey is part of the research project “Promoting Lifelong Learning through Learning Cities in the Sultanate of Oman.”The survey aims to measure the level of lifelong learning among members of Omani society in the targeted wilayats of&nbsp;&nbsp;Muscat, Nizwa and Sur. It also seeks to identify the learning and training opportunities available to them and assess how accessible these opportunities are. The survey will also measure their level of participation, identify related competencies, and examine the relationship between the availability of learning opportunities, the extent to which they benefit from them, and their impact on individuals and their competencies.The survey will be conducted through telephone interviews with a random sample of 1,200 Omanis aged 18 and above in the targeted&nbsp;wilayats .Hood Al Balushi, Acting Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at NCSI, said the survey considered&nbsp;as&nbsp;an important step towards providing data that will contribute to developing a more comprehensive understanding of the state of lifelong learning in Omani society, including the opportunities available to individuals, their level of participation, and the skills they possess.He added that the survey findings will help identify strengths and future needs, supporting planning and the development of relevant initiatives and programs. The findings will also provide indicators that can be used to enhance access to learning opportunities and support national efforts to keep pace with knowledge and digital developments.The study is also expected to contribute to establishing a national database that can serve as a basis for future assessments and the development of usable indicators, in addition to generating practical recommendations that can help enhance learning opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman.Al Balushi emphasized&nbsp;the importance of cooperation from members of the public who are contacted as part of the targeted sample. He called on them to cooperate with the NCSI Contact Centre when receiving a call from (24219000), noting that all responses will be treated with complete confidentiality and used solely for statistical purposes.Dr Mahmoud bin Abdullah Al Abri, Secretary-General of the Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, said the survey forms part of national efforts to promote lifelong learning as a key driver for enhancing the quality of learning and improving the quality of life and societal well-being.He stressed that the survey will provide reliable data and indicators to support planning, policymaking and the development of relevant initiatives.Its findings will also strengthen the efforts of the cities of Muscat, Sur and Nizwa within the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, by providing a deeper understanding of the current state of learning and identifying future priorities and needs in support of sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman.Professor Dr Aisha Salim Al Harthi, Principal Investigator of the study, said: “Oman Vision 2040 emphasises the importance of developing national capabilities through a lifelong learning system that nurtures future skills. Learning is no longer confined to a particular age group or a classroom; rather, it extends throughout an individual’s life and encompasses the various professional and personal stages they experience, as well as their multiple roles as parents and active members of society.”She added: “This study seeks to shed light on access to learning opportunities available within Omani society and to assess the extent to which lifelong learning competencies are present among its members.”

ينظم المركز الوطني للإحصاء والمعلومات خلال الفترة من 24 إلى 26 أغسطس الجاري ورشة عمل فنية حول احتساب المؤشرات المتعلقة بمحور الاستثمار والاستدامة الاقتصادية للتراث والثقافة، بمشاركة المختصين من المديرية العامة للمعلومات والمديرية العامة للإحصاءات الوطنية بالمركز.&nbsp;وتأتي الورشة في إطار العمل على احتساب مكونات المؤشر المركب (صون التراث والثقافة)، أحد المؤشرات الوطنية لرؤية عُمان 2040، بما يسهم في توحيد المفاهيم والمنهجيات المستخدمة في احتساب المؤشرات ذات الصلة.&nbsp;&nbsp;وتناقش الورشة منهجية وآلية احتساب المؤشرات، والبيانات المطلوبة ومصادرها والجهات المعنية بتوفيرها، إلى جانب رصد التحديات والفجوات في البيانات ووضع المقترحات المناسبة لمعالجتها.&nbsp;وتهدف الورشة إلى التوصل إلى آلية واضحة لاحتساب المؤشرات، والاتفاق على المفاهيم والتعاريف والمنهجية المعتمدة، وتحديد الخطوات اللاحقة لاستكمال أعمال الاحتساب بما يعزز دقة وموثوقية المؤشرات الوطنية ذات الصلة.&nbsp;

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) is holding a technical workshop on calculating indicators related to investment and economic sustainability in the heritage and culture sector.&nbsp;&nbsp;The workshop, which commenced on 24 August 2026 and runs through 26 August, brings together specialists from the NCSI’s Directorate General of Information and Directorate General of National Statistics.&nbsp;&nbsp;The event is part of ongoing efforts to calculate the components of the Composite Indicator “Preservation of Heritage and Culture,” one of the national indicators of Oman Vision 2040, thereby contributing to the standardization of the concepts and methodologies used to calculate the relevant indicators.&nbsp;It discusses the methodology and mechanisms for calculating the indicators, the required data, its sources, and the entities responsible for providing it. It also examines data-related challenges and gaps and develops appropriate proposals to address them.&nbsp;The workshop aims to set a clear mechanism for calculating the indicators, reach agreement on the adopted concepts, definitions and methodology, and identify the next steps for completing the calculation process, as well as enhancing the accuracy and reliability of the relevant national indicators.&nbsp;
