​White is the most preferred colour for vehicles in the Sultanate, with as many as 48.3% of the total number of vehicles sporting white colour During 2016​, according to a recent update from the (NCSI).

Silver is the second choice, and 9.1% of the total vehicles have silver colour. Gray is the third most prominent vehicle colour with 8% of the total number of vehicles having gray paint. This is followed by pearl, beige and blue at 6%, 4.7% and 4.6% respectively.

The percentage of vehicles sporting red color stands at 4%, while 15.3% of the vehicles are found to have colours not belonging to the above.

As for engine capacity, the NCSI report indicates that the majority of the vehicles (41.7%) have engine capacities between 1500 and 3000 cc, while 17.5% vehicles have engine capacities in the range 3000-4500 cc. The percentage of vehicles having engine capacity above 4500 cc stands at 13.2%. Vehicles with engine capacity less than 1500 cc make 5.2% of the total number of vehicles. 22.5% of vehicles run without engines.
