There has been a 24.5% increase in the number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Muscat during August 2017, which is the highest among all the governorates. However, there was a 12.5% decline in the number of residential plots granted all over the Sultanate to 19 thousand and 505 at the end of August this year compared to 22 thousand and 299 residential plots granted at the end of August 2016, according to the latest statistics issued by the Centre.
While 582 residential plots were granted during August this year for the Governorate of Muscat, 545 residential plots were granted for the Governorate of Ad-Dakhliyah. The total number of residential plots granted for Muscat registered a 38.8% increase to 2 thousand and 81 at the end of August compared to 1 thousand and 499 at the end of August last year. Compared to the end of August 2016, when only 196 residential plots were granted for the Governorate of Musandam, at the end of August 2017 one thousand and 152 residential plots were granted, registering a 487.8% increase, the data showed.
The number of residential plots granted for the Governorate of Al-Batinah South registered a 32.7% growth to 5 thousand and 185 until the end of August this year compared to 3 thousand and 908 until the end of August 2016. The number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Al-Buraymi registered a 170.8% growth to 704 compared to 260 at the end of August 2016. The Governorate of Ad-Dakhliyah was granted 4 thousand and 485 residential plot during the period under review compared to 4 thousand 257 at the end of August 2016. In the Governorate of Al-Wusta, the number of residential plots granted until the end of August this year increased to 906 compared to 589 at the end of August 2016. The number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Al-Batinah North registered a 84.3% decline to 437 compared to 2 thousand and 783 at the end of August last year. Similarly, the number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Adh-Dhahirah witnessed a 85.6% decline from 3 thousand and 512 at the end of August last year to 505 residential plots at the end of August 2017, according to the NCSI data.
