The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) bagged ISO 9001: 2015 certification for the second consecutive year, after passing the process of external evaluation and audit, by the German company TÜV InterCert, one of the top institutions in the world in the area of ISO certifications.
The external audit was done by the TÜV InterCert on December 27-28, 2017. This included evaluation of quality policy, objectives, system manual, authorised procedures and the models related to the quality management system, records and the processes used in the directorates and departments. The certification company found that all these tools and means conform to the quality standards and there were not even minor discrepancies.This achievement is the result of the efforts made by all those who are associated with the NCSI to achieve the goals. It became possible through the consistent efforts made for excellence and to achieve progress in the statistical work and other related services provided by the centre with full competence.
At the beginning of 2017, the NCSI was awarded ISO 9001: 2015 certificate, which is given to organisations, which implement the quality management system known as TQM system. This is with the validity period of three years when the officers of the TÜV InterCert keep visiting the organisation which gets this certification and keep doing external audit. This is to ensure that the requirements of the TQM system is fulfilled as per the criteria and standards of ISO 9001: 2015.The audit program comprised of two stages; initial and periodical. The audit cycle begins for three years with the beginning of the audit of the certification process. It is based on the requirements of the special grantee (TU) according to the ISO 9001: 2015 guidelines.The ISO 9001 certificate is one of the specifications of the ISO series which deals with organizational administration in an enterprise and aims to standardise, streamline, link, control and measure the administrative activities which constitute the authorised processes in which the powers and responsibilities were defined in accordance with the job description specified for each job to enable the organisation to achieve its objectives according to advanced planning, with least wasting of resources and time while improving overall performance.
