The National Centre for Statistics and Information receives a delegation from the International Monetary Fund's Statistics Department, which is visiting the Sultanate from April 17 to 23, in order to support the Sultanate's efforts to establish a one-stop public portal for the country key data, also known as the Oman National Summary Data Page. It will to be launched in June 23 and hosted by NCSI website www.ncsi.gov.om.
The launching of the data portal, which will be developed in cooperation with the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance, would be an important milestone in the country quest for a continuous development in publication of its statistics. It would also make the Sultanate one of the first countries in the Middle East and North Africa region to implement the Enhanced Public Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS), a key international standard for data transparency.
It is worth mentioning that the Oman National Summary Data Page will facilitate access to information defined as important to monitor economic conditions and policies.
