The (NCSI) received a delegation from the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development –Ithraa on Wednesday (May 8), as part of the framework of cooperation between the two organizations.
The visit of Ithraa delegation aims to enhance the role of Ithraa in utilizing the statistical data and to identify of the centre's pilot experience in converting statistical data that is linked to geographic dimension to a service that benefits all segments of the society through optimal utilization of vast amount of information owned by the centre. The delegation was received and welcomed by HE Dr. Khalifa Bin Abdullah Al Barwani, Chief Executive Officer of NCSI. The two sides discussed means of cooperation between NCSI and Ithraa in obtaining investment and export development data and statistics from NCSI, as NCSI is considered the main source of statistical data related to all sectors of the Sultanate. Al Barwani also reviewed the means of providing information on the international trade of the Sultanate through MANAFIZ portal, which provides detailed statistical data in the field of foreign trade of the Sultanate in terms of imports, exports, re-exports, data of goods and the customs sites, in addition to the trade exchange data with other countries. The NCSI is always keen to meet the needs of those interested in trade exchange data and help explore the import and export opportunities as well.
The Ithraa delegation expressed its aspiration to use the NCSI's expertise in the field of information and statistics, as NCSI plays a key role in providing statistical information supported by geographical dimension.
