The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) will conduct a survey as part of the third phase of a study to measure the implementation of joint Gulf Action decisions for Gulf institutions and companies operating in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Statistical Centre of the GCC States works in cooperation and coordination with national statistical agencies to implement the third phase of the study.
The survey aims to develop statistical indicators that measure the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council regarding the Gulf Common Market, as well as to recognize the views of economic institutions and companies, which are entirely owned by the GCC states and that operate in other member states. The survey also aims to measure the application of the Supreme Council's decisions concerning economic, service and investment decisions as well as to measure GCC citizens' knowledge and awareness on joint action decisions.
The survey targets legal citizens in GCC countries, which entails enterprises and companies entirely owned by GCC nationals operating in the private sector, within all economic activities in the Sultanate of Oman.
The study aims to measure the implementation of joint Gulf Action decisions; furthermore, it reflects the aspirations of His Majesty and the Excellencies as well as the leaders of the GCC States, within the framework of achieving integration and economic cooperation and attaining equality in dealing with natural and legal citizens of the GCC States without discrimination in all economic and social fields.
It should be noted that the Statistical Centre of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is mandated to examine the implementation of joint Gulf action decisions based on the decision of the Ministerial Committee in charge of monitoring the implementation of decisions related to joint Gulf action during the period (1981-2017) and within the 10 fields of the Gulf common market.
A detailed action plan has been developed to measure the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council in the economic and social sphere related to Gulf economic citizenship, to identify in detail the difficulties and challenges associated with the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council that face Gulf citizenship (natural and legal individuals), and implement necessary steps to overcome them.
