The value of traded value of property in the Sultanate of Oman fell by 19.5% to RO 587.5 million by the end of March 2024, compared to RO 730.1 million in the same period of 2023, according to the latest data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
According to Preliminary statistics issued by NCSI, fees collected of all legal actions amounted to RO 16.5 million at the end of March 2024, a decrease of 10.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
The traded value of sale contracts decreased by 3.3% to RO 284.9 million at the end of March 2024, and the number of sale contracts fell by 1.8% to 16,877, compared to 17,191 in the same period of 2023.
The traded value of mortgage contracts decreased by 30.8% by the end of March 2024 to RO 299.8 million compared to RO 433.3 million during the same period of 2023. The number of mortgage contracts also fell by 16.4% to 4,858 contracts from 5,813 contracts in the same period of 2023.
The traded contracts of barter contracts rose by 33% to RO 2.8 million at the end of March 2024 compared to RO 2.1 million in the same period of 2023. The number of barter contracts rose by 3% to reach 383 contracts in March 2024 compared to 372 contracts in March 2023.
The number of properties issued by the end of March 2024 fell by 6.9% to 57,167, and the number of properties issued to citizens of GCC countries also fell by 1.2% to 323 compared to 327 at the end of March 2023.
