The producer price index in the Sultanate of Oman recorded a decrease of 1.7% in the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, according to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
The prices of the mining and quarrying group decrease by 0.1%, the prices of crude petroleum and natural gas products decrease by 0.1%, the prices of metal ores products decrease by 1.5%, and the price of stone, sand and clay decrease by 0.7%.
The prices of the manufacturing industries group also dropped by 3.8%, and most of the prices of the subgroups decreased by varying percentages, where the most notable of them are the prices of the transportable goods group, which fell by 10.3%, while the price of metal products, machinery and equipment group rose by 5.3%, and the food, beverages and textile products rose by 2.6%.
Meanwhile, the prices of electrical energy group, and water group fell by 5.2% and 4.4%, respectively.
