The Sultanate of Oman's total oil exports declined by 2.3% by the end of May 2025, reaching 126,056.9 million barrels, compared to 128,991.5 million barrels during the same period in 2024, according to preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) .
The data showed that, the average price of crude oil dropped by 6.9%, reaching USD 75.2 per barrel by the end of May 2025, down from USD 80.8 in the same period last year.
Data also showed that average daily oil production decreased to 987,600 thousand barrels per day by the end of May 2025, compared to 996,100 thousand barrels per day during the same period in 2024, while the total oil production of the Sultanate of Oman declined by 1.5%, reaching 149,133.7 million barrels till the end of May 2025, compared to 151,401.2 million barrels in the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the natural gas production, including domestic production and imports, increased by 0.3%, reaching 22,716.4 billion cubic meters, compared to 22.650.8 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2024.
The data also indicated that associated gas production in Oman rose by 11.1%, reaching 5,177.7 million cubic meters by the end of May 2025, compared to 4,658.9 million cubic meters during the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, non-associated gas production, including imports, decreased by 2.5%, reaching 17,538.7 million cubic meters, down from 17,992 million cubic meters in the same period of the previous year.
Natural gas consumption in industrial projects fell by 6%, recording 11,458.5 billion cubic meters by the end of May 2025, compared to 12,195.4 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2024.
In contrast, gas usage in power generation increased by 3%, reaching 5,810.3 billion cubic meters, compared to 5,641.2 billion cubic meters by the end of May 2024.
The data also showed a 13.3% increase in gas consumption in oil fields, including industrial zones, Oman Mining Company, and Oman Cement Company, reaching 5,333.8 billion cubic meters, compared to 4,707.9 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2024.
Gas consumption in industrial zones alone recorded 7% growth, reaching 113.8 million cubic meters, compared to 106.3 million cubic meters during the same period last year.
